Alastor (アラストール, Arasutōru?) is the Crimson Lord to whom Shana is bound. His true name is "Flame of Heaven" (天壌の劫火, Tenjō no Gōka?) and he is the God of Retribution (天罰神, Tenbatsushin?), a God of the Crimson Realm who governs judgment and condemnation. Greatly feared by Denizens, Alastor is the strongest of all Crimson Lords. He is one of the Crimson Lords that Shana as a child. The girl who would become Shana was rescued and picked up by Wilhelmina Carmel and Shiro from Japan when she was an infant, and taken to Tendōkyū to be raised and trained. Tendōkyū remained in altitude above Japan due to Alastor's wishes, and conversations within were conducted in Japanese, the girl's mother tongue.
