Credenhill is a village and civil parish in Herefordshire, England. The population of this civil parish taken at the 2011 Census was 2,271. History Credenhill has links to cider production, one of Herefordshire's key industries. In 1887 Percy Bulmer founded the Bulmers cider company. The then 20-year-old son of the Reverend Charles Bulmer There is a very large Iron Age hill fort (occupied circa 750BC - 45AD) situated in Credenhill Park Wood. The hill fort was then occupied by the Romans between 47AD - 410AD and close to this was the Roman Town of Magnis. More recently RAF Hereford were based at Credenhill and the area was used to store munitions during the War. Post war the The 13th century stone built Church of St Mary's is situated above the village of Credenhill five miles from Hereford City and on the side of the densely wooded hill from which it takes it name. Credenhill Park Wood has on its summit an early Iron Age hill fort occupied by a Celtic tribe about 80BC.
