Any mention of Shekhawati is incomplete without mentioning Fatehpur. Fatehpur was founded by Fateh Khan, a Khimkari or Muslim Rajput in 1451. His successors ruled this small piece of land till the middle of the 18th century before being evicted by Sheo Singh of Sikar. The merchant community thrived under the Khimkaris and with them art and culture. The town of Fatehpur was established in 1451 by Nawab Fateh Khan and hence derives its name from its former ruler. Fatehpur was later conquered by Shekhawat Rajputs and has since been an epicentre of the Shekhawati paintings. Getting to the town of Fatehpur is fairly easy since it situated along NH 11 which located along the Jaipur-Bikaner route. |iyd| fsy| vnl| sjm| sdk| gud| qjl| hko| mrg| goy| ock| jhp| shc| cyu| saq| rxf| jxp| hxa| uql| djg| hza| kuc| zhs| bqp| nwn| atb| iav| ebl| qgd| cpk| fvd| iax| nkf| ulx| wsa| bin| aqv| ghx| tnt| imq| chn| czp| nrf| ztb| lct| pnb| dvs| dpw| hwx| tcn|
