Here's my two cents. I am a professor at UOttawa. I get students coming in from the CEGEP system (mostly from Gatineau) and students coming from the Ontario system. In general, CEGEP students are FAR MORE prepared for university. I've also had some come directly from Sec 5 in Québec: those students are over-achievers and usually do well too. The Cégep de l'Outaouais, the only public Francophone college in the Outaouais region, is an institution of higher education and professional development.
