Margraten, the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial is the only American military cemetery in the Netherlands. The U.S. 30th Infantry Division liberated this site on 13 September 1944. Here rest 8.301 American military dead. The American War Cemetery in Margraten, the Netherlands, is a final resting place for American soldiers who lost their lives during World War II. This cemetery honors over 8,000 soldiers. Many of whom fought and died in the liberation of the Netherlands and nearby areas.
