In 1992 Kirk started The Family, a 17-voice choir. They quickly caught the attention of GospoCentric Records and released their first album in 1993. In 1997 they recorded an album with God's Property, "Whatcha Lookin' 4," which contained the song "Stomp," featuring Cheryl "Salt" James of Slat-N-Pepa. The Message of "Stomp".
