Upon leaving Magnolia Park you follow a paved trail to a gravel road used by farmhands from 1940 to the late 1990s when the restoration of Lake Apopka began. The gravel road follows the shoreline to the north for 4 miles to the old pump house that was used to drain the north portion of land to create rich marshland for farming.
