4/18/13 - Nalle Hukkataival completed what he calls his "most epic battle" with an ascent of Bügeleisen (V14) in Maltatal in the Austrian Alps.. Bügeleisen was established by Austrian bouldering pioneer Klem Loskot in 2001. The Finnish Hukkataival first visited the climb in 2009, but the boulder was "literally a waterfall," he writes.His "epic battle" started when he first Loskot's routes and especially his boulder problems were some of the hardest in the world. Nanuk, in Berchtesgaden, Germany, done in 1997 and a contender as the world's first 8B+ or V14, only finally saw a second ascent last year. Bügeleisen (which he guessed to be V13) may have only one repeat.
