The ancient 1000-foot cliffs of Spearfish Canyon are a natural conduit for rainfall and snowmelt; gravity encourages runoff to spill down the walls, resulting in a number of waterfalls of varying sizes. The three most popular are Bridal Veil Falls, Roughlock Falls, and Spearfish Bridal Veil Falls is a 60-foot-high waterfall located in Spearfish Canyon south of Spearfish, South Dakota.
