It was established following a rebranding of the former BT Openzone and BT Fon, bringing both of the services under one name until the Fon partnership ended. [1] It supports the BT Consumer division. It is the UK's largest wi-fi network [2] with more than 5 million Options. 1) Openzone uses up to 512kbps of your overall connection, this is shared with Openzone and not soley allocated to them, so when Openzone isn't in use you will have the 512kbps as well. As stated it's completely separate and users are actually tunneled via VPN direct to openzone and don't utilize your actual connection path.I dislike BT Openzone. Trying to get connected and signed-in takes minutes rather than seconds, and even then the speed isn't great. Usually only takes seconds for me.
