Rysy is a truly breathtaking mountain that reigns as the highest peak in all of Poland. Towering some 2,503 meters (8,212 feet) above sea level, it's part of the High Tatras range and straddles the border between Poland and Slovakia, a little to the south and east of Zakopane. Rysy is known for its stunning vistas and challenging trails First, an 8 km walk from the parking lot to Morskie Oko, then an ascent to Czarny Staw and then a sharp climb for 2 km on a slope with a 30-60 percent slope. In many sections, facilities in the form of chains, clasps and forge steps in the rock, without which the average hiker or tourist would not be able to cope. The twin summitted peak is located in the central part of High Tatras in their main ridge ,on the borderline between Poland and Slovakia. The north-western summit of Rysy(2499,2) is the highest point of Poland, and therefore in the summer the mountain is climbed by a lot of people from the Polish side.
