Here in Ashland, we are fortunate to live at the base of the 7,233-foot-tall Mount Ashland. Mount A is home to a phenomenal network of singletrack trails as well as old fire roads that allow for endless exploration. The mountain biking community of the area has worked very hard to build strong relationships with land managers and different Mt. Ashland is owned and operated by the 501(c)3 nonprofit Mt. Ashland Association. We provide an outstanding skiing and snowboarding experience, high in the Siskiyou Mountains, while still readily accessible to our community—just minutes away from Ashland and Medford. One in five participants in our school-based programs do so for free. The Mt. Ashland Ski Area, which encompasses over 240 acres of national forestland, is situated on and near the summit of Oregon's highest peak west of the Cascade Range.Started largely by local ski enthusiasts, the ski area has been an important community asset since the early 1960s.
