Brian McDermott joins Hibernian FC as Director of Football with a wealth of experience in football from scouting, being a manager, and his playing days. McDermott, who won promotion to the Premier League with the Royals in 2012, put out a message reflecting on his time at the club and on Saturday's events. He said: "How can a football club go from being in the Premier League, to where it is today. "There was something at Reading fc between the 2000 to 2012 called 'The Reading way'. McDermott joined Arsenal as an apprentice in January 1977 and signed professional forms with the club in February 1979. He was a regular in Arsenal's reserve team, finishing top scorer in the London Combination in 1978-79, before making his debut as a substitute against Bristol City on March 10, 1979.
