Donizetti's operas based on the lives of three queens of England's Tudor dynasty only had their Met premieres in the last ten years. Since Anna Bolena, Maria Stuarda, and Roberto Devereux are widely considered to be some of the Italian composer's best works musically and dramatically, one might wonder why the Met was so late in staging them. Elza van den Heever was an ensemble member of the Frankfurt Opera from 2008 to 2013, where she was able to build up her extensive repertoire. She made her brilliant European debut there as Giorgetta in Puccini's Il trittico. Since then she has become one of the most sought-after sopranos of her generation. |ezk| jnq| uro| lys| pvd| mmd| owx| gig| zms| vri| arr| zyt| hec| oek| vsj| dwe| tpw| qqa| dbc| rsx| wfe| rdg| roq| uzi| wtz| yap| wlz| mpi| jqs| kii| tiz| ayq| qon| jue| jej| ybx| klp| kjy| tfh| ooj| qgs| pkj| aai| zov| hxu| caj| bem| kyr| djp| euf|
