Oodgeroo Noonuccal, formerly Kath Walker, was an Australian writer, activist, and educator. She is widely credited as being the Australian Aboriginal woman to publish a book of poetry. Noonuccal served in the Australian Women's Army Service and as a domestic servant before turning to writing and activism. She was a leading member of the movement to allow full citizenship to Aboriginal people.
