Jed Carlson Lowrie (born April 17, 1984) is an American former professional baseball infielder. and later attended North Salem High School. In 2004, while playing for the Stanford University Cardinal baseball team, Lowrie earned Pacific-10 Conference Player of the Year honors. He was a First Team All-American in 2004 and 2005. At Stanford, Lowrie was designated for assignment prior to the A's series finale against the Angels, likely marking the end of the 38-year-old infielder's tenure playing for the organization in which he's enjoyed by far the most success of his Major League career. Oakland hoped for a better ending with Lowrie, who was in his third stint with the club.
