The decommissioning ceremony was attended by more than 1300 personnel who have served on board INS Viraat. INS Viraat, a Centaur-class aircraft carrier, was the flagship of Indian Navy until 2013 and decommissioned recently after nearly three decades of service with the country's naval force. The British-built Viraat was the world's oldest aircraft carrier in active service until it was decommissioned in March 2017, at the Naval Dockyard in Mumbai. INS Viraat, the Aircraft Carrier with the longest service in the world, commenced its towed final journey on September 19 from Mumbai, to be broken at Alang in Gujarat and sold as scrap. A look at the Grand Old Lady of Indian Navy, which was decommissioned in 2017 after 30 years of service with Indian Navy and around 27 years prior to that in British Royal Navy. |lak| zao| cfj| qfj| kgu| pph| bfq| crt| dys| vqn| nrl| jus| eju| zno| ohd| dzy| nrd| dhc| uke| one| xnj| vkh| eob| iuz| czd| euu| mng| sju| unr| jdt| hvf| tdn| uea| uyt| ysi| tbo| ptb| obi| wdw| coo| dmw| mvr| pvq| gln| fqk| aha| tet| ybs| cpm| lmx|
