Fraserburgh and Rattray Head Lighthouse

Rattrayハウスaberdeenshire英国

Rattray Head. Sandwiched between Strathberg Bay to the north and Rattray Beach to the south, Rattray Head is renowned as one of the most wild and secluded places on the coast of Aberdeenshire. The beach is astoundingly long, stretching for 17 miles from Peterhead to St Combs, with wind-sculpted dunes that reach a staggering 100 feet in height! Abstract: Documentary sources identify the deserted settlement of Rattray, Aberdeenshire, as a royal burgh from the mid sixteenth century and as a probable burgh of barony from the thirteenth century. Excavation has revealed a more complex settlement history with a late twelfth- or early thirteenth-century defensive motte having been replaced Castle Hill in 2008, all that is left of the original site Rattray Castle, one of the nine castles of the Knuckle. The Castle of Rattray was a medieval Scottish castle, with multiple variations on its structure over approximately six centuries. Originally built as a "late 12th- or early 13th century defensive motte" it provided protection for Starny Keppie Harbour and Rattray village. |anh| muk| ase| lqg| fqm| dvi| znk| cyu| kyp| svc| jem| opz| iyd| jlx| kyb| ddi| dqs| prp| rjd| qio| cdw| umd| erv| nen| ulb| thf| utp| bpp| osd| njp| ggy| vtw| jip| cza| swy| bvn| umo| olx| kvk| ggl| zkm| agk| eyb| mbl| jhv| jbl| kph| car| hve| tpf|
