To begin making the Andhra Style Palakura Pappu, add Arhar dal/toor dal into a pressure cooker with 2 cups water and pressure cook for about 3 whistles. Switch off the heat and allow it release the pressure by itself. Once the pressure is released, open the lid and give it a stir. Place the pressure cooker on low heat and add the tamarind water. How to make Palakura Pappu Recipe: Firstly, clean and rinse the palak 3 to 4 times and keep it aside. Then heat a pressure cooker and add in water, dals, onion, garlic, green chilies, and tomato. And then close the lid and pressure cook it for 3 whistles. Strain it off with the help of a strainer. Finely chop 2 cups of palak leaves. Add the leaves to the dal. Add 1 tsp red chili powder, 3/4 tsp coriander powder and salt. Let this boil for 10 minutes. Use a whisk mash it well.
