He was appointed Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives on January 13, 2012 under Premier Greg Selinger. Born and raised in rural Manitoba, he knows that a strong rural economy is key to Manitoba's Kostyshyn was born and raised in rural Manitoba, and his family has operated a cattle ranch for decades.
