Published 8th July, 2020 by Greg Morris. Tableware glass manufacturer Libbey Inc plans to close its Shreveport plant, Louisiana, USA by the end of the year. It said it continues to take action to reduce costs and align manufacturing capacity with lower levels of projected demand. It will negotiate the recommendation with the unions representing Libbey's Glass Plant in Shreveport and the accompanying Factory Outlet store closed December 30, 2020. Remembering 47 Years at Libbey Glass Shreveport will be displayed in the West Wing Gallery through May 25. The public is invited to view the exhibit during regular museum hours: Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm. This year, LSEM will be open Libbey Inc. will invest USD 20 million at its Shreveport, Louisiana, manufacturing site, bringing new technology and a research and development component to its operations over the next two years.
