JACT is an exception because it has simplified texts. If you want to read unadapted Greek but can't do so without a dictionary, I think Loebs (or equivalent) are the most convenient way to do it. If your only goal in studying Greek is to "construe" the text into English, then I guess bilingual texts are cheating.JACT's Reading Greek is a good book. It's, broadly speaking, in the tradition of "inductive" methods, meaning books that lay a heavier focus on reading than on Grammar.
