1976 John Deere Liquidator. John Deere introduced two snowmobile models in 1972 and produced around 225,000 before sales stopped in 1984. For the 1975 model year, John Deere introduced a 340S model for cross country racing. 376 snowmobiles started the Winnipeg to St. Paul I-500 in 1975 and 12 of the 22 machines to finish the race were the John Deere 340S.
