Verrucous venous malformation (VVM), formerly known as verrucous hemangioma, is a rare congenital vascular anomaly originally described by Imperial and Helwig. 1 There is no published incidence, prevalence or ethnic predisposition to VVM. It was recently demonstrated an association between a somatic mutation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase 3 (MAP3K3) gene Verrucous hemangioma is an uncommon congenital vascular malformation described by Imperial and Helwig as a separate entity in 1967 [ 1 ]. It usually presents at birth or in early childhood, with the commonest site being the lower extremities.
