The present day Gorch Fock is the cadet training ship of the German Navy. She was built at the Blohm and Voss shipyard in Hamburg, based on the plans for the previous version, built in 1933. She was launched on 23rd August 1958 and is based at the port of the city of Kiel. She regularly participates in events organised by the Sail Training Die „Gorch Fock" ist eine sogenannte Bark.
