This track is part of the Edwards - Hawdon Route in Arthur's Pass National Park. This section takes you from Hawdon Hut to Hawdon Shelter. This track is only suitable for experienced and well-equipped trampers - river crossings can be dangerous and impassable during and after heavy rain. Please note that fees are required to stay at Hawdon Hut. Bookings are not required - first come, first Greyneys Shelter (SH73) - Mingha River - Goat Pass Hut. Time: 5 hr. 5 km south of Arthur's Pass village, cross Bealey River after it meets the Mingha River. The rivers are constantly changing course so you will need to find the best place to cross.
