His lifelong work in Jewish education earned him the Israel Prize, his country's highest honor. Born in Jerusalem in 1937 to secular parents who immigrated to Palestine in 1924. The achievements of Rabbi Adin Even-Israel ("Steinsaltz," 1937-2020) are well known.
