Big Bend is a Larger-than-Life Park. Big Bend is the first and largest park in the state of Texas. It stretches over 1,252 square miles, which is surprisingly larger than the state of Rhode Island. This park has so much to see and do within its borders; visitors never complain of being bored. Developed Campgrounds. There are four campgrounds in Big Bend National Park. The National Park Service (NPS) operates three developed frontcountry campgrounds that provide drinking water and restroom facilities. In addition, a full hookup RV camping area is operated by the park concessioner, Aramark.
