The statue is of Dave Andreychuk, but it stands for more than just one man. The former Tampa Bay Lightning captain knows it offers up a chance to remember the team effort it took to capture the Dave Andreychuk, a Hockey Hall of Famer who captained the Lightning's 2004 Cup-winning team, and Brad Richards, who won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP after Tampa Bay defeated Calgary in During the 1981-1982 season, Andreychuk had his breakout year, scoring 57 goals and adding 43 points for a 100-point season, leading to the big winger being drafted in the first round in 1982 by Thrust into the lineup as an 18-year old, Andreychuk scored a goal in his first NHL game, and never looked back. Dave led the team in goals four times, in 1983-84, his second season (38), in 1984-85 (31), in 1989-90 (40) and in 1990-91 (36), and also led the team in assists and points from 1985-86 through 1987-88.
