Major retailers had moved to the newer and arguably nicer malls in the suburbs. Much of the plaza was vacant and the stores that remained weren't exactly draws. They created memories for multitudes at Christmastime in Rochester, and quite alliteratively — Magic Mountain and the monorail at Midtown. Midtown, of course, was Midtown Plaza, the Through our historic vehicles and photographs, trolley rides and model railroad displays, research library and gift shop, the museum's dedicated volunteers honor our area's transportation history, bringing it to life for today's visitors and preserving it for the future.
