Vessels 16 feet in length or less and/or propelled by a motor of 7.5 hp or less must display a 2-year registration decal but are exempt from the fee. The 2-year registration decal is valid for the calendar year in which it is issued and the subsequent year, expiring on December 31.
To combat these ecologically-threatening species, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources urges anglers to kill all invasive species they catch. In fact - in Maryland - it is illegal to transport live snakehead, blue catfish and flathead catfish. Anyone in violation of this can be fined up to $2,500.
