Noureddine Morceli (en arabe : نور الدين مرسلي, né le 28 février 1970 à Ténès, est un athlète algérien spécialiste des courses de demi-fond. Vainqueur de quatre titres de champion du monde du 1 500 mètres , dont un en salle, de 1991 à 1995, il devient le premier athlète algérien masculin à remporter un titre olympique Noureddine Morceli was the world's top miler in the first half of the 1990s. Coached by his brother Abderrahmane, a former Olympian, Morceli began his dominance of the 1,500 m in 1990. He set the best year performance six years in a row, and broke the world record twice, holding it from 1992 through 1998. He also won three World Championship 20 Jun - Heir to Morceli's throne, Algerian Ali Saidi-Sief took down Morceli's national record in the 2000m, running 4:46.88 in Strasbourg, France to eclipse Morceli's then WR of 4:47.88.
